The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has released a new exit survey. This survey highlights students’ interest in diverse career opportunities. These include startups, entrepreneurship, higher studies, and civil services.

According to the survey, 13.5 percent or 359 students plan to pursue higher studies. The survey was conducted among students who graduated in August 2024. It also noted that not all students used on-campus placement services.

Key Findings of the Exit Survey

  • 53.1 percent or 1,411 students received job offers.
  • 8.4 percent or 224 students are self-employed.
  • 1.7 percent or 45 students work for a startup.
  • 2.5 percent or 66 students are involved in entrepreneurship.
  • 13.5 percent or 359 students are pursuing higher studies.

Additionally, 1.8 percent or 47 PhD students are waiting for post-doctoral research opportunities. Around 12.1 percent or 321 students are preparing for various competitive exams.

  • These exams include civil services and engineering services.
  • About 5 percent or 134 students are still seeking suitable career opportunities.

A total of 2,656 students received degrees at the annual convocation on August 10, 2024. This includes 481 Ph.D. degrees, 113 M.B.A. degrees, and 1,001 B. Tech. degrees.
